Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 surrounded by his loving family, in his 90th year, Thomas David Power. Born in Portugal Cove South, he was a long-time Trepassey businessman, co-founder of Southern Construction and owner of Island Wide Construction. Predeceased by brothers: Kevin, Mike, and David, and sisters: Marie and Nell; granddaughter, Mara; nephews: Michael and Dermot, and special sister in law, Stella. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife, Nora; daughters: Linda (Glenn) Tobin and Marie (Jay) Callanan; sons: Paul (Brenda),Tom (Alison), Francis (Paula), Terry (Tara), Glenn (Mary), and Neil (Susan); grandchildren: Susan (Dwayne), Robin, Andrew (Bobbi), Karyn (Mitch), Jason, Jane, Amanda, Kyle, Taylor, Evan, Catherine, Alex, Emma, Ava, and Keira; sister Ann Cahill, and sisters in law: Sister Frances Pennell and Joyce Power, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation at Cauls Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd on Wednesday, May 14 from 7-9 pm, Thursday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Friday 10 am - 12 noon. Funeral Mass will take place from St. Paul's Church, Newfoundland Drive, on Friday, May 16 at 2 pm.
