
Lawrence (Larry) Robichaud
It is with great sadness, we the family of Lawrence (Larry) Robichaud, announce his passing on March 22, 2014 in R.V. Hospital, Barrie, ON, after a battle with cancer. Born in 1922 in Memramcook, NB, he was the son of the late Frederick and Eva (LeBlanc) Robichaud.
His early life was spent in Amherst where he attended school and prior to joining the RCAF. Later Larry moved to Ontario where he ran and operated his own service station. After retiring from this, he and his wife Shirley owned and operated a hotel in Dorion, ON, up until their final retirement to Innisfil. For many years, Larry always enjoyed playing the piano for his family and friends. During his time in Innisfil, he was in a band called The Country Rogues. He and his great friend Watt who played guitar and sang, spent many hours going out and entertaining seniors with their music.
Larry will be sadly missed by his wife Shirley (nee Russel); son Gary (Gloria), Truro; adopted son, David (Sue), Barrie; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Robichaud, Amherst; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Muriel Kenney, Amherst; a sister in law, Alda Robichaud, Amherst; a brother in law, David (Joelle) Russel, of Ottawa as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by his first wife Doris; a son Val; a brother Raymond and a brother in law, Roger.
Arrangements are under the care of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777). Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life was held in Innisfil in April. A funeral mass and reception will be held at Holy Family Parish, Amherst on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11 am. Burial to follow in St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery. Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
