Gordie Longphee age 56 of Quest Rehabilitation Centre, Lower Sackville passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the QE 2 Hospital, Halifax.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Gordon and Carmel (McDonald) Longphee.
Gordie loved listening to music; his favourite hymns were Danny Boy and Out on the Mira. Gordie enjoyed going for drives, having stories read to him and eating his favourite snack, cheezees.
Gordie is survived by his two sisters, Cathy Dupe (Sheldon), Wendy Penney (Kevin), both in New Waterford; two nieces, Loretta, Vanessa; two nephews, Christopher, Kyle; one great nephew, Cohen and three great nieces, Ava, Kate and Jaedyn.
Gordie was predeceased by his siblings, Loretta, Theresa, Debbie, Stephen and Tony.
Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith St., New Waterford with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Interment to follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
