It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maxwell Ernest Thomas announce his passing at Western Regional Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on Sunday May 18,2014 at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 62 years Clara, children Gail (Basil) Demeau of Toronto, Linda (Ron) George, Paul (Brenda) Thomas, of Corner Brook, Monty (Danita) Thomas of Gander, six grandchildren Jason, Tara, Gloria, Jonathan, Matthew and Troy, three great grandchildren Nathan, Laura, and Joseph, brothers and sisters Garfield (Daphne) Thomas Boom Siding, Melvin (Selma) Thomas, Wally Thomas, of Corner Brook, Joan (Roy) Wiseman, Renee' (Frank) Penney of Pasadena, and a large circle of nieces , nephews other relatives and friends.Max is predeceased by his mother and father John and Tryphena Thomas, sister Geraldine and her husband Chuck Ferguson, brother Clyde and wife Renee', half sisters Josie Butt,and Joyce Wheeler. The family will be receiving friends from Fillatres Funeral Home St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9, and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral service will be held at The Salvation Army Citadel Clarence Street on Thursday may 22, at 2:PM with Major Frank Johnson officating, interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.If so desired donations in his memory may be made to The Salvation Army Citadel.
