FRENCH (Patriquin), Luta Elaine
Age 97, of Truro passed away on April 23, 2014 in Melville Lodge Continuing Care, Halifax. She was born in Haileybury, Ontario on September 25, 1916 to Kempton and Emily (Rushton) Patriquin. Luta was predeceased by her parents, stepmother, Elizabeth; husband, Bert; sister, Shirley Matthews; brothers, Cecil, Basil, Orville, Seldon, Hilton and Lionel. She is survived by daughters, Phyllis MacKay (Paul), Brenda Moore (Soley Lynds, deceased), grandchildren, Shawnn Webb (Derek), Evan MacKay (Annette), Kerry Moore (Kimberley); great-grandchildren; Brittani and Ashley Moore, Emily and Lucas Webb; step great-grandchildren, Sarah Morin and Mark Logan (Veronique); great-great-grandson, Kaiden Moore; step great-great-grandchildren, Corbin and Adah Morin, Addison and Aislyn Logan; sister-in-law, Helen Patriquin Abbott, brother-in-law, Alfred Matthews and several nieces and nephews. In 2010 after breaking her hip Luta moved into Melville Lodge. The family wishes to thank Melville’s doctors, staff and wonderful caregivers and Luta’s roommate, Elaine Blackie, who watched over her. Cremation has already taken place. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice. A luncheon (buffet) reception to commemorate and celebrate Luta’s life will be held from noon to 2 pm Sunday, May 25 in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
