Elmer Paquet
PAQUET, ELMER - On Sunday, May 18th, 2014 Elmer Douglas Paquet passed away peacefully, in his 83rd year, after his battle with cancer. He lived his life "One Day at a Time". His trade was laying floors and his work can be found in many buildings throughout Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. Also, he was a milkman and worked in a dairy. He did whatever was needed to support his family. He brought laughter and positivity to everyone he met. He was loving know as "Fuddy" and "Pops" to his many family and friends. He was the husband, partner and best friend to Anita (Phillips) for over 65 years. They shared the love of animals and could often be seen feeding birds and stray animals. He was the patient loving and caring father to Doug, Debbi Knopp (Steve), Charlene (Frank Quinn) and Steve (Tara Diamond), the joy he brought to his children will be deeply missed. He was lovingly known as "Grampie" to Angela, Corey, Jericho, Lukas, Zachary and Jacob. He is survived by his siblings Louis (Ida), Margaret Gallant (Clark), Jimmy (Mary) and Gerard (Valerie) and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by his in-laws Eileen Paquet, Harold Phillips (Doreen), Libby Hughes (Denny), Edith Jordan and Linda Stavert (Billy). Elmer was predeceased by his parents John and Regina and step-mother Catherine "Katie" McKenzie. Predeceased also by his siblings Edward, Alden, Joseph (Vernita) and John.
No visitation or funeral by personal request. His ashes will be buried at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In memory of Elmer donations can be made to The PEI Humane Society or the QEH Cancer Treatment Centre.
