We, the family of the late Gerald Barrie, wish to express sincere thanks to our family, friends, neighbours and co-workers for their outpouring of love and support shown to us during Dad’s illness and passing. We appreciate the numerous visits from people who visited Dad while he was in the hospital and who were always there for us. Thank you all for keeping in touch with phone calls and messages. We want to acknowledge and thank the paramedics who transferred Dad numerous times to the Regional Hospital for treatment and appointments for their incredible care and compassion. We are so appreciative of the years of exceptional care given to Dad, that lasted until the very end, by Dr. Bill MacDonald. To the nurses and staff of the Northside General Hospital 5E and 4W, the Palliative Care Team and the Palliative Care Volunteers who were so caring and professional, making our final journey with Dad as peaceful and loving as possible; thank you for taking such incredible care of our beloved husband, father and papa. To those who attended Dad’s visitation and funeral, offered condolences, stories and memories as well as Mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers, phone calls, visits, food, monetary gifts and donations made in his memory, we thank you. A special thank you to those who travelled to be with us during this difficult time. To Rev. Ray Huntley, thank you for the personal, heartfelt and uplifting words during the Funeral Mass. Thank you to the concelebrants, lectors, The Holy Family Parish Funeral Committee, parish choir and to all who participated in the touching Funeral Mass. It was a farewell Dad would be so pleased with. A special thank you to The Holy Family Parish CWL for the beautiful lunch they provided and served at the reception and to the support they have offered Mom, who is a long-time member of the committee. We will forever be grateful to Manning Jobes and staff of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home for their professionalism and understanding. This has been a difficult time for our family and we appreciate the love we have felt from all of our family and friends. It has helped us through the sadness more than you will ever know.
