WILLIAMS, FREDERICK “FRED” J. - Frederick “Fred” J. Williams, 83, of Manoir Notre-Dame, Moncton and formerly of Cedar St., passed away peacefully at The Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late David and Elise (Chase) Williams. Fred was a former Dispatcher with the City of Moncton with over 33 years’ service and a member of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church. In addition to being an avid Montreal Canadiens fan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending precious time with his family and friends. Fred will be sadly missed by his sons, Frederick (Elise), David (Debbie), Stuart (Jeannette), Donald (Sheila) and Paul (Roxann), all of Moncton and Larry (Brenda) of Riverview; daughters, Béatrice Hebert (Lionel) of Dieppe, Camilla LeBlanc (Gilles Arsenault) and May Williams (Rick Cook), both of Moncton; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Thérèse (Thébeau) Williams (August 2013); son, Ronald (June 2010); six brothers, Emond, Alyre, Frank, Albert, Miledge and Edgar; two sisters, Viola and Nellie.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass celebrating Fred’s life will be held at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church (854 Mountain Road) on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 9:30 am, with Rev. Jean-Guy Dallaire officiating. Interment, Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Reception in the Church Hall following the Mass.
