The passing of Sylvena Murphy (nee Despres), of Montague, in her 106th year, devoted wife of the late James Emmett Murphy, occurred on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Riverview Manor, with her family by her side.
Born in Adamsville, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Agnos and Honorine "Norris" (Gallant) Despres.
Dear mother of Jack (Janice) Murphy; loving grandmother to Marlene Boyd (Bernie), Carolyn Murphy-Haight (Bryce), Nancy Murphy (Craig), John Michael Murphy (Melissa). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grandson, Jeff; brothers, Henry and Antoine.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting hours Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral mass on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Montague. Interment to take place in the parish cemetery.
