It is with broken hearts that I announce the sudden passing of my mother on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at home.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Dolena (MacDonald) Thurgood.
She was a loving mother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Donna Williams, Sydney, sisters-in-law, Lois Thurgood and Phyllis Williams, niece, Dr. Anne Thurgood, nephews, James, Ranald and George.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donnie, son, Sidney 'Sid' and brother, Charles Thurgood.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held 2 p.m., Friday, May, 23, 2014, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
