Pamela Dawn Rushton
Rushton, Pamela Dawn -45 of Portapique, Colchester County, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, surrounded by her family in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Amherst, she was the daughter of Murray and Marilyn (Gould) Siddall. Pam worked for 15 years at the Nova Institution for Women. She very much loved her work.
Prior to that she lived in Toronto and worked at the Toronto Hospital. She enjoyed her work there as well. She enjoyed family vacations very much and especially the trips taken to Disney World. She also enjoyed baking, raising her children, going to the movies and shopping with her “Girlies”. Pam will be greatly missed by her family and friends, as she was a loving wife, a great mom and a loyal friend.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Harlan Rushton; three loving children, son Riley age 19, daughters Madison age 15, Shelby age 13, all at home; brother Brian Siddall of Southampton; sister Brenda Wood (Roy) of Parrsboro; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Frank and Elsie (Meedrum) Siddall; maternal grandparents Vincent and Isla (Dobson) Gould.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 25th from 6-8 pm and funeral service Monday, May 26th at 2 pm both in Faith Baptist Church, Great Village. Pastor Steve Adams will officiate with a reception to follow in the church hall. Burial will follow in the Portapique Beach Cemetery, Portapique beach. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Relay For Life Team “Pams” Country Cousins.
