P. Roger Janes of Traytown, NL (formerly of Clarenville NL), passed away suddenly at Dartmouth, NS on May 13, 2014, age 86 yrs. Predeceased by sisters Vera Meenan and Isabel Janes, brother George Janes and brothers-in-law Robert Meenan and Gary Ivany. Lovingly remembered by his wife Olive (Young), sister Violetta (Babs) Ivany, Ottawa, brother John Janes (Ada), Clarenville, sister-in-law Reta Phillips, Clarenville; brother-in-law Allan Young (Marie), Twillingate, nieces Doreen Dalley, Linda Murray, Susan Rooney, Dian Brady, Katherine Ferris, Elizabeth Sutton, Doreen de Munnik, Karen Currie, and nephews Robert Janes and Gerald Ivany. Also several great nieces and great nephews whom he adored, as well as a special cousin Sadie Thistle and many friends throughout Canada and the United States. His career spanned 35 years with the Newfoundland Health Department and at retirement he was the administrator of the Gander Hospital District. A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the Memorial United Church, Clarenville, NL on Saturday, June 28, at 2 pm. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Clarenville. Donations in his memory may be made to the Memorial United Church, Clarenville. Roger was well known for his love of people and music. He will be greatly missed by many.
