It is with great sadness that the families of Jean Kelly announce her passing, after a long battle with ALS, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL on Friday, May 23rd, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: her husband, Ronald; her children: Brenda (Rick), Frances (Frank), Rodney and Dean (Thelma); her 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, her sisters: Cynthia & family of Howley and Geraldine & family of Calgary. Jean was predeceased by her son, Wayne and her parents, Albert & Frances Harnum. Jean also leaves to mourn a large ­number of nieces, nephews, other ­relatives, family and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends from the Church of the Ascension in Howley, NL on Saturday, May 24th, 2014 from the hours of 7-9 p.m. and continuing on Sunday, May 25th, 2014 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where also the funeral service will take place on Monday, May 26th, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed King officiating. Burial to follow at the Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Howley, NL. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL. By request of the family, donations may be made to the ALS Society in Jean's memory.
