The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, May 25, 2014, of Gilbert "Gil" Rummenie, of Summerside, aged 77 years. Born in Toronto, ON, he was the son of the late Peter and Mabel (Hawkins) Rummenie. Survived by his children Linda Rummenie, Miramichi, NB; Michelle (Russ) Hughes, Cambridge, ON; Robert (Maureen) Rummenie, Summerside; grandchildren Andrew and Tammy Shewchenko, Christopher (Elizabeth) and Steven (Rachel) Hughes, Nicholas Boragina, and Scott and Rachel Rummenie; great-grandchildren Olivia and Lukas Hughes; sister Winnifred (Thomas) Tsapoitis; brother James (Lorna) Rummenie; special friend Barbara Perry; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Shirley (Duffett) Rummenie; and by his brother Peter (Greeta) Rummenie. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. No visitation or funeral service by personal request.
