Lent William McMullen

McMULLEN, Lent William – 65, Londonderry, Colchester County, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, May 26, 2014. Born December 27, 1948, in Truro, he was a son of the late Donovan and Phyllis (Tinney) McMullen. Lent was employed at Scotsburn Dairy for 40 plus years. He enjoyed music, dancing, drag races, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. Poker games on Saturday night camping trips was a given. He had a few things he wanted to do before he passed and we got them done: attend a Blues Festival in Bible Hill, go to the “top” of Mount Washington and visit his grandmother’s grave one last time. Lent leaves behind his wife, Debbie (Alexander); children, Lent (Shirley), Natasha, Darcy; step-children, Dawn, Jason; grandchildren, Jacob, Jared, Austin, Magregor, Jamie-Lee; brothers, Jim (Jill), Tom (Daphne), Tye, Dick (Brenda); sister, Marlene; many nieces, nephews and lots of special friends. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Robert Rushton. At Lent’s request, there will be a private family graveside service at a later date. If so desired, donations in Lent’s memory to Hillcrest Cemetery, c/o Kelly Eagles, 14 Bonaventure Place, Debert, NS B0M 1G0 are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Lent’s obituary on-line and selecting “Send A Condolence” at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com

May heaven’s gates open and you be pain free.
Rest in peace, Lovey.
