It is with heartfelt sadness that we the family announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Harry Muldoon, of Sydney, formerly of Whitney Pier, who passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Devereaux) Muldoon.
Harry was a member of Holy Redeemer parish, Whitney Pier. He retired from Sydney Steel and served overseas with the Merchant Marines during the Second World War. He was very proud of his Irish heritage.
He is survived by his wife Zita (White), daughters, Patricia (Brian) Melski, N.B., Erin (Alan) Paruch, Westmount, Deirdre (Stephen) Savage, Alberta, Terry (Ruth Ann), Ontario, Shane (Jane), Halifax, Stephen (Alice), Sydney, Mark (Bev), Sydney, sisters, Rita Connelly, MA., Margie MacCormack, MA., Patsy (Cyril) Lewis, Sydney, brother Danny, Sydney, son-in-law John Zonneveld, Halifax, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Harry was predeceased by his wife Christina 'Tena', daughter Paula Zonneveld, son in infancy Dennis Gerard, sisters Mary Muldoon, Sr. Barbara Muldoon and Colleen Wilson.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday May 31, 2014, in Holy Redeemer Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating.
