1931-2014: Ray passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2014 surrounded by his family after a long spirited battle with cancer in Halifax. Ray was born in St. John's in 1931 and served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 + years, leaving the military as a Master Warrant Officer. In addition he served with the United Nations Peacekeeping Corp and was assigned to Cypress. After leaving the Military he operated a TV repair shop and also worked as a manager with the Royal Newfoundland Yacht Club for 5 years before moving to Nova Scotia where he and his wife owned and operated a large variety store in Hubbards. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 59 years, Hughina and their daughters Jennifer (Ron) and Rhonda (Dave), son Raymond (Patty) and 4 grandchildren. Also he leaves his brother Edward (Sally) and sister, Marguerite in Western Canada, his cousin Janet (Paul) in St. John's and numerous other family and friends.
