It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our sister, Sr. M. Clare, on Friday, May 9, 2014, at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton, Ill.
Born in Sydney, she was the beloved daughter of Colin and Ann (Cholock) MacNeil.
Sr. Clare graduated from Holy Angels High in 1975. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis in 1975 and graduated from St. Louis University, MO in 1984, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
She was a very caring and compassionate person who spent her life taking cae of the sick and elderly. She worked at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton, Mother of Good Counsel Home, St. Louis and the McCarrick Center in New Jersey.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by sisters, Colleen Shaheen (Harold), Linda MacLeod (Philip) and Mary MacNeil; nieces, Maria and Andrea Shaheen, Christina MacLeod and nephew, Brennen MacKinnon.
Funeral mass took place in Alton with interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
