The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, May 30, 2014, of Zelda Gallant, of Summerside, aged 85 years. Born in Bedeque, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Arsenault) Gaudet. Survived by her husband Clarence "Kye" Gallant; children Shirley (Brian) Maxwell, Shelburne, NS; Gail (Lornie) DesRoches, Summerside; Susan Gallant, Summerside; Cindy Gallant, Summerside; Linda (Jamie) Landry, Charlottetown; Clarence Jr. "Boo" Gallant, Summerside; daughter-in-law June Gallant, Summerside; grandchildren Sheila, Jamie, Lawrence, Laurie, Sarah, Greg, Ben and Kiara; great-grandchildren Logan, Isabella and Hope; sister Theresa Vatafu, Barrie, ON; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her children Wayne, Billy, Gregory and Sheila; sisters Dorelda, Margaret, Elizabeth, Mary; and brothers Gussie, John, Edward, Fred, Joseph and Lorne. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Monday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
