
Marion Bannister
BANNISTER, MARION - Marion Eleanor Bannister, 91, of Elgin, passed away at the Jordan Lifecare Centre on May 30, 2014. Born in Church Hill, NB, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Gladys (nee Sheffar) Geldart. Marion loved the outdoors: gardening, fishing and hunting (she even shot her own moose). She enjoyed the birds, especially owls. She was a homemaker, making bread twice a week, and she took delight in making the Sunday meal for her family. She liked to play cards, read and knit in her spare time. Marion is survived by her daughters: Glendine Lutes (Stewart) and Joyce Barbour (Gary), all of Petitcodiac, and Patricia Steeves (Lucas) of Elgin; her brother Loris Geldart (Barbara) of Church’s Corner; half-sister Betty LeClair of Truro, NS; grandchildren: Bonnie Warren, Heather Perry (Shawn), Judy Berry (Mike), Mark Barbour (Julie), Laura Barbour (Char), Madison Steeves, and Savannah Steeves; ten great-grandchildren; as well as by many extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband Vaughn Bannister, and her infant son Allison.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell St., Petitcodiac, from where visitation will be held on Monday June 2, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held in Armstrong’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Adams presiding on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held in the All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery in Church’s Corner, NB.
