JONES, ANDREW - It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of our only son, Andrew Scott "Bubba" Jones, of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Andrew died peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 31st, 2014, in the presence of friends and family. He leaves behind his parents, William Arthur Jones and Sylvia Annie Jones (Vandenbroeck). He will also be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Andrew’s family will be forever grateful for the care and compassion provided by his close friends, Shawn Dalton, Bev Noddin, and Dave LeBlanc, during his long battle with cancer. Andrew enjoyed all aspects of life. He loved travelling, music, theatre, and the outdoors. He was involved in the live theatre community in Fredericton and took part in Shakespeare in the Park each summer. He loved the thespian social community and developed many friendships through acting. Andrew was an avid Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival enthusiast and attended many live music events throughout the year. Camping, canoeing, and kayaking were favourite summer activities. Spednic Lake was Andrew’s favourite camping destination. Andrew travelled across Canada and also visited Europe and Africa. Andrew attended the University of New Brunswick where he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1979. After graduation, Andrew worked for the province of New Brunswick in computer programming. He finished his career at Service New Brunswick as a Systems Architect.
We would like to invite all family and friends to a celebration of Andrew’s life at the home of Bill and Mary Hamilton, 14 Gloucester Crescent, Fredericton, on Saturday, June 7th, from 3 to 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
