Isaac “Ike” Wiens, age 71, of Abbotsford BC, (formerly of Wymark and Swift Current, SK) passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 18, 2014, after courageously battling cancer for a number of years. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, May 23, 2014, from First Memorial Funeral Services, Aldergrove, BC. Isaac was born on August 9, 1942, in the Wymark district, the youngest of seven children born to Peter and Helena Wiens. Isaac is survived by his partner, Vera; Ex-wife, Marge; his son, Kevin [Patricia] Wiens - four grandsons: his daughter, Cheryl Turgeon - three grandsons, one granddaughter and one grandson-in-law, four great grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Koop, Helen [Jake] Peters, Beth [Henry] Klassen, Anne [Dave] Penner; a brother, Peter [Betty] Wiens; and by many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother; one nephew; and by four brothers-in-law. Isaac will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends. We do not mourn as those who have no hope for he has gone to be with his Lord.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 2:00 pm from the Bridgeway Community Church Cedar Hall, 510 – 13th Ave, Swift Current, SK – please use North Entrance.
A Private Family Interment will be held at the Schantzenfeld Cemetery, Wymark, SK. In memory of Isaac Wiens, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
