NEW GLASGOW – Harold Earl “Skip” Busby, age 80 of 421 Nelson St., New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, June 1, 2014 in the V.G. site of the QEII Hospital, Halifax with his family by his side.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late William Henry and Edith (Wells) Busby.
He was a resident of Dunakin, Cape Breton, Inverness County for some 17 years before moving back to New Glasgow. He was a retired employee of Maritime Steel Limited, New Glasgow with 33 years of service. Skip was a member of the Church of the Nazerene, Trenton and a member of the former New Glasgow Salvation Army.
He is survived by his wife the former Brenda Campbell, daughters Rev. WendyLee (David) MacIntosh, Rebecca Murray (Ian Fleet), granddaughters: Christina MacKenzie (Daniel Lalancette), Sharon MacIntosh and Savanna Murray; sister Isabel Gillis, sisters-in-law Beatrice Busby and Jessie Busby.
He was predeceased by a sister Marion Urquhart, brothers John and Edward Busby.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Church of the Nazerene, Trenton with Pastor Leon Teal officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
