McGRAY, Margarette Stella “Mae” – 88, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born May 15, 1926 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late John and Anita (Doty) Surette. May worked as a bookkeeper and secretary and she was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 155, Wedgeport. She is survived by her children, Linda (Lloyd) Douglas, Shirley (Glen) Gardiner, Larry Wilson, Wendy (Gordon) Darrach, all of PEI; Heather Huyghue (Tony Ivancic), Wedgeport, as well as by nine grandchildren. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur W. McGray and a brother, Percy Surette and a sister, Loretta (Plowman) Surette. Visitation took place from 2 to 4 and again from 7 to 9 Friday, with a Royal Canadian Legion Auxilliary service at 7:30, followed by prayers at 8:00, both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 7 from Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiated.
