Peacefully at his home in New Perth on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 of Johannus Hendricus (John Henry) Van Dyke, formerly of Hoogland, Netherlands, age 81 years.
Devoted husband of Lorraine (Valley) Van Dyke and dear father of John (Bobbi) Van Dyke. Fondly remembered by his precious grandchildren, Jackson and Ava Van Dyke; his sister, Gerda (Kuyer) Van Dijk; and brother, Daan (Gelinde) Van Dijk; his nephews, Marco (Kaja) Van Dijk and Ollie (Aunicoe) Van Dijk, and their children; nephew, Jan (Heidi) Kuyer; and niece, Brigitte (Lieuvie) Huanstra.
John was predeceased by his parents, Jordanus and Bertha (Hilhorst) Van Dijk; his brother, Jan; sister, Jeanne Van Dijk; and his brother-in-law, Kees Kuyer.
He also leaves to mourn his passing his brother-in-law, Philip (Buddy) and Rose Valley; sisters-in-law, Kay (Vincent) Baird and Leah (David) Walker; and his many nieces and nephews.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting hours on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 9, 2014, from St. Joachim's Church, Vernon River, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Oncology Unit of the QEH or St. Joachim's Building Fund. Family flowers only.
