Gladys MacWilliam
MACWILLIAM, GLADYS - Gladys Jean (Coates) MacWilliam, in her 100th year, of Lewis Mountain, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Moncton Hospital, Friday, June 6, 2014. Born at Scott Road, she was the daughter of the late Bowman G. and Margaret O'Blenis. Gladys was a retired pastry chef with the former Magnetic Hill Inn and a member of the Salisbury United Church and Salisbury Legion and Auxillary Branch No. 31. She is survived and missed by her daughters Anita O'Brien (Rick) of Lewis Mountain and Carolle McLuskie (Wayne Misselbrook) of London, ON; sister Geraldine Wilkinson of Woodstock, NB; daughters-in-law Lillian Coates, Joan Coates and Audrey Coates; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by first husband Trueman Coates; four sons Ward, Dale, Henry and Douglas Coates; grandson James Coates; second husband Donald MacWilliam: brother Garfield O'Blenis and sisters Greta Matheson and Glennie Lutes.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Monday, June 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held from our chapel Tuesday, June 10 at 11 am with Rev. Carol Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Lewis Mountain Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Lewis Mountain Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
