RYAN, LAWRENCE E. – Surrounded by his family, Lawrence Ryan, husband of Norma M. Ryan of Public Landing passed away at the Kings Way Care Centre on Monday June 6, 2014. He was born in Hampton on May 2, 1924. Lawrence went on to be employed by the Canadian Pacific Railroad and then Kimberly Clark of Canada. Larry enjoyed his retirement and was active until the end. He is survived by his wife Norma, daughter, Cathy McHugh (Thomas) of Quispamsis; sons: David Ryan (Debbie) of Grand Lake, Danny Ryan of Saint John and Peter Ryan of Public Landing; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, William and Maude (Graham) Ryan; three brothers and a sister.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). At the family request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Augustine’s Church, Grand Bay-Westfield on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 10:00 am with the reception following in parish hall. Interment will take place in St. Augustine’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
