Bradford "Brad" Blaikie
BLAIKIE, Bradford Cecil “Brad” – 91, Central Economy, passed away February 22, 2014, in Truro. Born January 19, 1923, he was a son of the late Andrew Cecil and Elizabeth (Smith) Blaikie. Brad served overseas in the Second World War. After the war, he lived on Staten Island, New York, where he owned and operated an antique store. Brad is survived by his sisters, Marilyn (Doug) Foster, Omemee, Ontario; Rose Legace, Orleans, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, John (Killed in action during the Second World War), David (twin), Harry in infancy, Hector, Ellen (Alfred) Wilkinson, Patsy (Frank) Francis, Lionel Sr., Carl; nephew, Lionel Jr. (March 2014). Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2014, in St. James United Church, 47 Great Village Lornevale Road, Great Village, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Brad’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
