Elizabeth Fraser Reeves, age 99 of Reeves Road, Coalburn, Pictou County, passed away June 9, 2014 at her home.
Born in Thorburn she was a daughter of the late James X. and Mary (MacDonald) MacDonald.
Elizabeth had been a resident of Coalburn since the age of nine. She was a member and elder of Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, a former member of the L.O.B.A. Lodge, Thorburn, Dorcas Rebekah Lodge, Thorburn, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and a life member of the Atlantic Missionary Society. Elizabeth was a graduate of the Provincial Normal College and taught school at various schools throughout the county.
She is survived by daughters: Mary (Wendell) Ward, Ottawa; Florence Reeves, Montague, PE; sons: James “Jim” (Dorothy), Coalburn; John (Darlene), Morin Heights, Quebec; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Howard, a brother Duncan, and son-in-law Ian Frenette.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in Castle Hill Cemetery.
