It is with sadness but gratitude for the many blessings of her life that the family of Phyllis Hamlyn announces her peaceful passing, in her 88th year, on June 10, 2014. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she enriched the lives of many with her fun, friendly and generous spirit. The gentle beauty and luminous smile of this lovely woman will be fondly remembered. Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Aubrey Hamlyn. She will be dearly missed by her children: Rosalyn (Denis Gluck), Elizabeth (Robert Smith), and Douglas (Anthony Bonato); grandchildren: Lindsay (Jeff), Ashley (Nelson), and Andrew (Renee) Gluck, and Hayley, Alexander and Lauren Smith. Her legacy will live on in her five great-grandchildren. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Thursday, June 12 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from The Anglican Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue, on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 3:00 pm, with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
