It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Jean Elizabeth Lynk, 68, at Seaview Manor on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
Born in Big Ridge, Jean was the daughter of Walter and the late Jennie (Walker) Dixon.
She was a member of St. Columba Presbyterian Church. Jean’s favourite pastimes were spending time with her family, gardening and listening to Celtic music.
Jean is survived by her loving children, Deborah, Big Ridge, Denise (Rodney), Sydney and Dennis (Linda), Sydney; her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Taylor, Mitchell, Nicholas, Jordan, Rebecca, AJ and Andrew. Also survived by her father, Walter Dixon and siblings, George (Maureen) Dixon, Alena (Kenny) Ferrar, Charlie (Elaine) Dixon, Roy Dixon, Ann Marie (Scott) MacLeod, Gary (Norma) Dixon, Blair Dixon and James Dixon.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Ernest William Lynk and her mother, Jennie (Walker) Dixon.
Visitation will take place a Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 13 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Columba Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 14 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Lydia MacKinnon officiating. Interment in Riverview Cemetery.
