
Brenda Winchester
WINCHESTER, BRENDA JOANNE – It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Brenda Joanne (McCaustlin) Winchester which occurred at the Colchester East Hants Health Center on Monday, June 16th, 2014. Born 1949, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Quinn) McCaustlin. Brenda worked as a waitress for many years. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, puzzles, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Brenda is survived by her daughter Cathy Brideau (Tom) of Saint John and their children Joseph, Dylan and Emilie; sons Donnie Winchester (Melissa) of Saint John and their children Ashley, Nicolas, and Logan, Mark Winchester (Penny) of Truro and their children Mark, Grady, Maddie and Charli; brothers Mark McCaustlin (Laura) of London, ON, Blake McCaustlin of Sussex, David McCaustlin (Jill) of Saint John; sisters Dale McCaustlin of Saint John, Pat Bannan (Don) of Saint John, Janice McCaustlin (Mike) of Sussex, Marilyn Surette (JJ) of Lower Sackville, Jackie McDowell (Johnny) of Kentucky; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her sister Lori Scott.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). There will be no visitation as Brenda’s remains have been accepted to the Dalhousie Medical Research Center as per her request. A memorial service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, June 19th at 10 a.m. Donations in Brenda’s memory may be made to The Joshua Group, Dalhousie Medical School or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
