We regret to announce the passing of Wilma MacKinnon, 63, of Sydney Mines, on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at home.
Born in Sydney Mines on September 24, 1950, Wilma was the daughter of the late Archie D. and Helen (MacDonald) Mackinnon.
Wilma graduated from NS Teacher’s College in 1973 with a TC5, and taught school most of her life in Halifax County. She was a very loving, generous and patient person.
Wilma will be forever loved and truly missed by Corey and Sarah, Derek and Lori, Cameron, Hugh, Cate and Ethan. She also leaves to mourn her brother Hector; sisters Florence (Dolsie) Jessome, Eileen MacKinnon-Lewis, and Maureen Tremblett, all of Sydney Mines; sister Sheila Shewan, Sydney, many nieces and nephews, and two special nieces, Sheila and Morley.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Scott; sisters Marie Blinkhorn, Marguerite, Mazie, Anne, Sally and Mary; and one brother Donald.
In keeping with Wilma’s wishes, there will be a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wilma’s memory may be made to your favourite charity.
