DESPRES, LOUIS - It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Louis Joseph Despres which occurred on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born 1955 in Rogersville, NB he was the son of the late Lionel and Zita (Caissie) Despres. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Rita and Celina; brothers, Roger, Fernand and Ovila. Louis worked with his brothers for Black Seal Paving for many years. He was an avid card player; he enjoyed playing cards with his family. Louis spent time with his family and friends at Tim Hortons, and could always be seen with his best friend and wife, Judy. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Judy; brothers, Cleo (Ruth) of Orillia, ON and Ivan (Thora), Romeo (Linda), Jean Guy and Ronald (Darlene), all of Saint John; sisters, Yvonne Pelletier (John) and Maria Hart (Bob), both of Saint John; sister-in-law, Kathie of Saint John; brothers-in-law, Kenny Colwell (Judy) of Saint John, Richard Colwell (Mario) of Toronto and Edward Colwell (Sheila) of Bathurst; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Friday, June 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
