BUSE, Rosette Monique – age 97, Yarmouth, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with family members by her side. Born July 16, 1916 in Surette’s Island, she was a daughter of the late Augustin and Thérèse (Surette) Surette. Rosette worked in Saint John, New Brunswick as an office worker with Revenue Canada for 35 years. Aside from playing cards, she was known to volunteer much of her time, especially with the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, the Helping Hands program and the Yarmouth Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, to name but a few. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as by two godchildren, Rose-Marie Surette and Malcolm Surette. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harry Buse, as well as by brothers, Forman, Angus, Benjamin, Peter, Melbourne and Jerry Surette and a sister, Georgine Muise. Visitation took place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 23 at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Surette’s Island, Father Maurice LeBlanc, CJM officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
