It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Helena Isadore, age 71, of Wagmatcook First Nation on Sunday, June 22, 2014 in Ottawa.
Born in Wagmatcook First Nation on October 3, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Michael Isadore and Nancy (Doucet) Isadore.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her children, Joan Martin, Ottawa; Leon Mathys, Toronto; Catherine Lelivre, Ottawa and Ruby Isadore, Glace Bay; Joseph MacMillan, Ottawa; Alexander MacMillan, Ottawa; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sisters Flora Robertson, Montreal and Caroline Bernard of Afton.
She was pre-deceased by her sisters Virginia Smith, Jane Julia Stevens (Ronald), Irene Paul all of Wagmatcook, Mary Bridget Christmas, Bessie Christmas of Membertou, Pauline Isadore in infancy, Wagmatcook and brother Stephen M. Isadore (Martha) of Wagmatcook. Numerous aunts and uncles of Wagmatcook.
Visitation will take place Wednesday June 25th at Saint Kateri Tekawiha Centre at Wagmatcook starting at 2 p.m.
Funeral mass will take place Thursday June 26th in the Saint Kateri Tekawiha Parish at 2 p.m. with Father Paul Abbass officiating. Interment to take place in Queen of the World Cemetery.
Funeral is under the direction of MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck, NS.
