Passed peacefully away at the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, Major Ernest Diamond, age 78 years. Leaving to mourn wife Lillian; brothers Eric (Margaret) and Llewellyn (Martha); sister Clara (Roy) Moore; sisters-in-law Margaret Diamond, Emily (Fred) Langor, Patricia (Gilbert) Jennings and Ruth Rideout; brothers-in-law David (Joyce) Rideout and Lewis (Maisie) Rideout; a number of nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from The Salvation Army Citadel, Adams Ave. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.
