Theodore "Ted" Gaudet
GAUDET, THEODORE "TED" - It is with great sadness that we wish to announce the death of Theodore “Ted” Joseph Gaudet of Fredericton on Wednesday, June 26th, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in St. Norbert, Kent County, NB, he was the son of the late Marc and Leona (Babineau) Gaudet. Ted worked for many years for the province of New Brunswick at Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, from which he had retired in 2013. He was also very active with AIDS New Brunswick, having served as a past president. His work with them was well rewarded, as he was the recipient of several awards including the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for Community Work (2002), the United Nations International Year of the Volunteer Award (2001), 2008 AIDS New Brunswick Life-Time Achievement Award, Canadian AIDS Society Leadership Award (2014) and the Daniel T. Clowes Memorial Award (2014) from AIDS Saint John. Ted is survived by his daughter Nicole Gaudet of Merritt, BC; three grandchildren, Brent Jr., Samantha and Kyle, all of Merritt, BC; brothers Alcide Gaudet (Anita) of New Maryland and Edward Gaudet (Cathy) of Maugerville; sisters Leonice Gallant (Leo Paul) of Richibucto Village, Lucia Richard (Paul) of Maquapit Lake and Andrea Gallant (Gilles) of St. Louis de Kent; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many friends. In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by a brother Robert Gaudet and a sister Odila Irvine-Breau.
Resting at McAdam’s Funeral Home with visiting on Sunday, June 29th, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Memorial Mass will take place on Monday, June 30th, 2014 at St. Dunstan’s Roman Catholic Church at 12:00 PM with Fr. Bill Brennan officiating.
