The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Monday, June 30, 2014, of James Wesley Currie of Summerside, aged 99 years. Wesley was born on February 18, 1915, in Glenwood, Lot 8, to his late parents John and Hilda (nee Betts) Currie. Veteran of World War II. Beloved husband of the late Olive (nee Gorrill) Currie and loving father of Hazel (Audrey) Morris of Delta, B.C., Lila Jean (Paul) Offer of Tyne Valley, David (Sandra) of Hartsville and Eric (Kim) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Wesley was predeceased by his brothers Reggie and Denzil his sisters Violet, Hazel, Helen and Verna. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Friday, July 4, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in People’s Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Wesley’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
