At his late residence in Toronto, Ontario, on Friday, June 6, 2014 of Alan Birch Rix formerly of O'Leary, aged 67 years. Alan was born in O'Leary on January 23, 1947, cherished son of Myrtle (MacNeill) Rix, Summerside, and the late Alvin Lester Rix. Dear brother to Cleve (Roberta Crawford), Freetown, and Ralph (Sandi), Edson, AB. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Kim, Jason, Michael, Matthew, Zachary, Jordan, Trevor, Chantelle, along with several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Alan was predeceased by his father and sister Janice. Arrangements entrusted to Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, July 7, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Peoples Cemetery, Mount Royal. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Alan to the Mount Royal Peoples Cemetery or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
