The family of the late Phyllis McCann would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who supported us during this most difficult time.

We thank Dr. Culliton for her daily visits and calls when Phyllis needed her most. We sincerely thank the wonderful doctors and nurses on the Palliative Care unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, who were exceptional in their treatment of Phyllis as she neared the end of her journey. Your kindness was very appreciated by every family member.

We thank all those who took the time to come to the funeral home to support family members and those who shared their fond memories of Phyllis. Thank you to Derek Locke and Sheila Singleton for their loving tributes. Thank you to Joanne Philpott for the after funeral reception at Grenfell College. Thank you to everyone who made donations in Phyllis’ honour. The many cards received by all members of her family were especially consoling.

Thank you to Father Gale and the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home, who provided us with a very moving memorial service. Thank you as well to Sheila Singleton and other staff members at Memorial University in St. John’s who organized and provided us with a wonderful memorial service and tribute to Phyllis at the MUN School of Music. And a special thank you to Phyllis’ niece, Sarah McCann for her loving words during this service. Thank you to all of Phyllis’ co-workers and friends at the Registrar’s Office and other branches of MUN for providing personal comfort through our stages of grief. And thank you for the wonderful album of memories which now sits proudly on our Mom’s coffee table.

A special thank you to Phyllis’ friend Trudy as well as her large, tightly knit circle of friends who were always very close to her heart, and have now become a little bit closer to our own hearts. Thank you to all the family friends for the overwhelming donations of food. It gave the family one less thing to worry about at such a difficult time. We can’t thank you enough.

Phyllis’ expression would be a resounding thank you, a big hug, and a feeling of awe, saying “You did all of this for me!?”
