Harold Stuart "Tim" Smith

Date de décès : 30 juin 2014

SMITH, Harold Stuart “Tim”- 69, of Carleton. Son of the late Thelma and Glenwright Smith of Yarmouth. It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tim on June 30, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer, and battle he did. From the moment he got his diagnosis, Tim was amazingly strong, brave, and positive right until the end. Tim was known for working at the Clipper Ship Tavern all those years ago. He worked most of his life as a carpenter, and he would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Tim also loved to play music, and did so for more than half his life. He was also known for telling stories and his fondness for being around people. Tim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Becky; children, Kathie, Yarmouth; Timothy (Carmen), Brazil Lake; grandson, Jay (Haley), Edmonton, Alta, who he was so proud of; extra special sister, Louise Schofield (Ralph), Yarmouth; sister, Adra, Yarmouth; and his oldest and dearest friend, Allan MacKenzie, Lower Argyle; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Esther; brothers, Gerorge, David; and brother in infancy, James. Tim will be remembered for his laugh, quick wit, willingness to help others, and being a great judge of character. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was no funeral service as per Tim’s request. There was a celebration of his life held at the South Ohio Community Center on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 5-9 p.m. Donations in memory may be made to the Baie St. Marie Animal Society, www.facebook.com/hopeformojo . On-line condolences may be sent to: sweenysfh@eastlink.ca or you may sign the guestbook on-line at: www.sweenysfuneralhome.net
