GAUTREAU, MARIE THERESE - Marie Therese (Gallant) Gautreau of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Wednesday evening, July 9th, 2014 with loving family by her side at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston at the age of 71. Born on May 17, 1943 in Grande Digue, New Brunswick, Canada; daughter of the late Raoul and Maria (Leger) Gallant, Marie Therese came to the United States as a young woman and lived most of her life in Waltham. Marie Therese was employed with Stigmatine Fathers & Brothers at the Espousal Retreat House on Lexington Street in Waltham and Coffee Town Coffee Shop on Moody Street in Waltham for many years. A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Marie Therese truly enjoyed talking, socializing and learning about others and would routinely ask how they were doing. She loved spending time with her family and friends both in the United States and Canada. She was genuinely concerned with others and cared deeply for those she knew and loved. She had a strong faith in her God and prayed religiously for so many of her friends and family. For the past 10 years she had a strong mind but her body started to fail her. Throughout her illness she never complained and always kept a positive outlook. She was a passionate Boston Red Sox Fan and diehard Montreal Canadians Hockey Fan. Marie Therese is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years Amedee C. Gautreau, her loving and devoted children Marc Gautreau of Waltham, Waltham Firefighter Lt. Guy Gautreau and his wife Jill of Waltham and Rachel Gautreau Hewes of Gorham, Maine, her cherished grandchildren Nickolas and Mason, and her dear siblings Rachel Bannister and her husband Armand of Dieppe, New Brunswick, Maurice Gallant and his wife Murielle, Bernard Gallant and his wife Evangeline all of Dieppe, New Brunswick, Fernand Gallant and his wife Shirley, Léonard Gallant and his wife Christine all of Shediac Bridge, New Brunswick and Adrien Gallant and his wife Stella of Moncton, New Brunswick. In addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. She is predeceased by her brother Jean-Paul Gallant and his wife Cecile.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning, July 19th at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Marie Therese Life at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial on Friday, July 18th from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking attendants. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
