The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, July 17, 2014, of Evelyn Peters, of Summerside, aged 100 years. Born in New Glasgow, NS, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Lollie (Costain) Gallant. Survived by her daughters Marie (Tom) LeBlanc, Ann (Duane) MacEwen; grandsons Mike (Darlene) Fardy, Jason (Krista) MacEwen, Andrew MacEwen (Cara Giggey); great-grandsons Jamie Fardy and Kendrick MacEwen; sisters Lynnie (Grant) Grady, Mary Acorn; brother Joe (Doris) Gallant. Predeceased by her husband Walter Peters; sons Charles Joseph and James Albert; sisters Bertha (Gordon) Sullivan, Zeta (Ralph) MacDonald, Leona (Norman) Perry, Theresa MacLean, Hilda (Bill) Smith and Connie (Eddy) Laughlin; brothers George (Anna) Gallant, Larry (Syl) Gallant, Reginald (Mary) Gallant and Clifford Gallant; and by her brother-in-law Bill Acorn. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. No visiting hours by personal request. Memorial donations to the "Mass for Shut Ins" would be appreciated.
