FLORIAN, MARIA - It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Florian announces her passing on July 23, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton following a brief illness. Maria was born on March 29, 1930 in the Province of Pordenone Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1961. Maria and her husband Romeo made Fredericton their home in 1963, after a time in Toronto. Like so many newcomers, Maria enthusiastically created a new life for her family and made many cherished friendships. Maria is predeceased by her husband Romeo and leaves behind her two sons, Luigi (Joan) and Roberto (Kelli) her pride and joy her grandchildren, Leah (Adam Bowie), Justin and Harrison and her two great-grandchildren, William Bowie and newborn. Maria is also survived by her sisters, Anna Basso, Silvana Breda, Miranda Ordorico as well as her brothers, Tony and Benny Marson of Toronto. Maria was a member of St. Dunstan’s Parish.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home (458-9170) on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 12 noon at St. Dunstan’s Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Brennan as celebrant. Interment will be held at a later date.
