BENOIT, TIMOTHY PAUL - Timothy Benoit, 59, of Shédiac, passed away on Monday July 28, 2014 at his residence. Born on January 13, 1955 in Moncton, he was the son of Raymond “Benny” A. Benoit of Tracadie, NS and the late Doris (Drisdelle) Benoit of Joggins, NS. He worked previously as a chef at the Villa du Repos in Moncton and most recently as a chef at Résidence Pascal-Poirier in Shédiac. He was an avid dart player, former vice president with the Humphrey Lewisville Sunny Brae Lions Club and a retired Captain with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets 650 Squadron. He was also a volunteer with the Ray of Hope Kitchen in Moncton. Besides his father, he is survived by three daughters: Rachelle Steeves (Jeff) and Francine Benoit (Réjean Allain), both of Moncton, and Elizabeth Benoit (Grant Morrell) of Riverview; the mother of his daughters, Marguerita Allain of Moncton; five grandchildren: Marco, Kailyn, Madison, Brandon and Grace; two sisters: Charlotte Allain (René) of Ottawa and Claudette Benoit (Charlie Mayberry) of New Horton; four brothers: Léonard (Claudette) of Timmins, ON, Antoine (Deborah) and Gérald (Bernice LeBlanc), both of Moncton; and Roger (Diana) of Scoudouc; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by one brother Francis, a sister-in-law Marge Benoit, a brother-in-law Victor Allain and a nephew Philippe-André.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 10 am until time of funeral. A reception will follow at the centre. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
