Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Hospital on March 18, 2008, our beloved brother and uncle Thomas H. Whitten in his 85th year. Predeceased by his parents George and Jessie Whitten, brother John Whitten, brothers-in-law: Frank Pack and Lloyd Weir. Leaving to mourn his sisters: Hannah Pack of St. John's and Florence Weir of North Sydney; special nieces: Ruth Greeley (Greg), Carol Dunne (Jim), Christine Squires (Randy); also many other relatives and friends, especially those at the Bristol Complex where he lived. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and on Friday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Funeral service on Friday at 3 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at St. George's Anglican Cemetery, Petty Harbour. In lieu of flowers donations in Thomas' memory may be made to St. George's Church, Petty Harbour, or a charity of one's choice.
