STEVENS, SYLVIA VIRGINIA - The family of Sylvia Stevens, formerly of Germain Street and most recently Dobbelsteyn Care Home, announce her passing on August 22, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with family by her side. Born in Saint John, NB on September 24, 1927, Sylvia was a daughter of the late Ann Eliza (Sherwood) and Thomas Edward Stevens and the wife of the late Peter Peters Sr. Sylvia was a passionate woman of faith which was evident to all who met her. She was an active member of the Full Gospel Assembly. She is survived by her children, Peter Peters (Crena) of Saint John and Gerald Peters of Toronto; grandchildren, Wanda (Robert), Diane, Karen (Rob), Marsha (Dan), Josh (Holly), Michael, Stacey (Jason), Gerald Jr., Ryan and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brandon, Kaely, Nicole, Chelsea, Justin, Jeremy, Dylan, Emily, Walker, Shea-Lynn and Brie; great-great-grandchildren Lucas and Olivia and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Stevens, sisters, Reta, Emma, Helen and Priscilla; and brothers, William, Louis, Millen, Charles, Ernest and Harry. Sylvia was the last surviving member of her family.
Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014, from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. immediately followed by a reception. Interment in Mosher Hill Cemetery, St. Martins. For those who wish remembrances may be made to Romero House or a charity of the donor’s choice.
