BABIN, Marjorie Anne – age 92, of Sluice Point, passed away on August 21, 2014 in the Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac. Born on December 19, 1921, in Pinkney’s Point, she was a daughter of the late Camille and Evelina (Melanson) Boudreau. She is survived by her husband, George “Antoine” Babin; sons, Ken, Halifax; Larry, Nackawic, New Brunswick; sister, Blanche Tremia, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Kelley and Sandy; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; stepsons, Raymond, Earl (Marcella), Walter (Gloria); stepdaughters, Ella, Bertha (Jamie), Marilyn; numerous step grandchildren. Besides her parents Marjorie was predeceased by her first husband, Alphonse Simon Amirault; sisters, Mildred Romaine, Kay Jacquard, Harold Boudreau; brother, Edward in infancy; nephew, Bruce Romaine; stepson, Roderick; stepdaughter, Alice. Marjorie was a life long member of the Women’s Catholic League. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she loved knitting and playing cards and let us not forget her precious salt and pepper shakers collection. She will be fondly remembered for her love of singing and piano playing. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, where visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday, August 24 in Yarmouth, with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc officiated. An interment was held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac.
