It is with great sadness that the family of the Garry Luther White announce his passing on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s at the age of 66 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 46 years Sylvia (nee Mercer); children: Gloria (Robin) Russell, Garry White (Mary-Lou Pennell), Justin White (Deirdre Andrews) and Jordan White (Glyness Park); grandson Rylan and granddaughter Georgia; brothers: Godfrey and David White; sisters: Gloria (Herb) Tanner, Carol (Gerald) Fennemore and June White; brothers-in-law: Gerald (Margaret) Mercer and Donald Mercer; sisters-in-law: Muriel Gosse and Marina McAuley; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Emmanuel and Elizabeth White and mother-in-law Daisy Mercer. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 11:00 AM from First United Church, Park Street with Marilyn Avery officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Daffodil Place or the Cancer Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
